This essay was made to express how our views toward English can change how we see our selves and the people around us especially if they do not speak Standard English. She talk about her experience in Public Policy and phrases like “dumbing down” can be harmful to people who may speak a dialect that is different from the standard. The overall message is to make sure people know that there is nothing wrong with other dialects even if it is not the standard.
